I had a follow up appointment this morning with my doctor and I have made so much progress!
My latest bio-meridian test showed that the inflammation has almost disappeared. She was so happy with my progress. The 6 pounds of edema and swelling I took back from the crest trail is also gone.
Her next goal is to start taking more weight off. She is convinced I have some insulin resistance so she sent me home with a blood sugar testing thingy. My pancreas is still in distress but every other system has calmed down.
My vitamin D is still too low and my AM cortisol levels are still too low but my PM cortisol levels are almost within normal. My bloodwork revealed some kind of C protein something that is causing the excess inflammation, but the supplements and diet regimen is taking care of that.
The nurse practitioner explained the biology of cells and inflammation and auto-immune diseases and I think I'm starting to put the pieces together from all the things in my life that have led me to where I am.
Since my inflammation has gone down so much she told me I could stop taking certain supplements and reintroduce chicken, eggs, and tuna into my diet. Yay!
The focus for the next two months is weight loss (finally). I am still eating whole foods, no sugar, no processed foods, and minimal carbs for the next little while. She said I shouldn't lose more than 2-3 pounds per week. I can also start swimming 3-4 days per week for 30 minutes but nothing more.
I'm really excited to continue moving forward. I feel more at peace and more content about life and my health than I have for a long long time. Dan has noticed how much more stable and happy I am too. I am feeling better in ways I didn't even expect and it has been great!
Maybe I should go celebrate by buying a whole chicken and eating it for dinner tonight. With eggs.
On second thought, maybe I'll just continue eating stir fry for dinner for the rest of my life.
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!! Sooo stoked for you Steph!
ReplyDeleteonce again thank you for being so honest. I had my own set backs this week, but reading about your trip made me feel ready to take it all on some more. I am so glad you can eat more stuff now. because seriously that sounds so boring. I hope that you continue to learn, and understand how to make things work. It is really hard for me to accept things as they are, and that the progress I have made is good. I want it ALL to go away. you are helping me deal with my own issues thank you.
