I did it.

This post is short. I went running on the treadmill twice this week because of the cold. Trust me I came up with all the excuses in the world to not go. Some of them included being tired, being lazy, being busy, hating the treadmill and being intimidated to go to the little gym at our complex.

I resisted the lazy bum scaredy cat inside and went anyway. The first time I did my two mile loop it took me more than 30 minutes. 34 to be exact. Granted I did walk about half of it and there are hills, but my best time outside has been 29 minutes.

Tonight I pushed through and did my 2 miles in a little less than 27 minutes. That's progress and I'm dang proud of it!

On another happy note, a few items of clothing are starting to fit better and that more than ANYTHING is motivating to me. Seriously, I could care less about how much I weigh if I could just feel comfortable in my clothing and not feel like I am forced into clothes that really belong with the tents and camping gear.

Here's to week 3 of the running challenge. Not really sure what my challenge is anymore because it already seems like it's too cold to run outside. Oh well, it really doesn't matter. I'm just going until I decide what my next goal is.

  1. YAY! Good work! I told myself I'm going to start running outside. I swore I would wake up as soon as the sun came up and start running despite the cold weather. Well, the problem was the sun never came up. It's always dark here! It's very frustrating. It's also not safe AT ALL to run on the narrow back roads in the dark. SO. . . I need to find something else to do fast!
