I've received some very very nice compliments about my blog from friends and I am wondering if any of you know how to improve your blogs? I know that google ranks blogs with a google rating but you have to have hundreds of followers and such and then people look at your site to do giveaways. This blog is really just a personal journal for me but if a lot of women really relate to some of my struggles and experiences and love getting healthy recipes then of course I would love to share it with as many people as possible.
I just really like sharing everything I have learned with people who are trying to figure out how to make improvements to their lifestyles. I am always trying to learn more about nutrition, fitness, self-confidence, emotional health, etc. and it can be a hard journey to do by yourself. I learn a lot from other people and hopefully some of the content on here helps other people in a small way.
I clicked the "montetize" tab on blogger and I have no idea what I'm in for, but luckily I can shut it off if people feel bombarded by ads. I have no clue what kinds of adds will appear, but hopefully "Cooking Light" Magazine will realize that I am giving them free advertising all the time by reposting their recipes!!! As well as Prevention magazine, Myfitness pal, Hungry-Girl. I guess I just like sharing what I've learned from all these great resources and want to pass them along to anyone who's interested.
If any of you are in the SLC area and want to come to our Body Image Forum meeting tomorrow night, you should totally come! We are having some special guests do a presentation on the media's representation of women and how to stand tall and believe in yourself despite the images we see that make us feel inferior. You can email me for more information if you are interested. It's such a great group to have to discuss all things related to health and challenges.
I completed a mini triathlon yesterday as part of my "Fat Blast" challenge at the rec center. I ran my mile in about 10.5 minutes and then we did spinning for 20 minutes and then 6 laps in the pool. I have to say that I dominated the swimming portion but I was trying to swim so fast and really burned my arms out which was a first. I don't know how in the world I am going to survive through my spring tri coming up in April!!!! I am not a runner and even when I attempted to be one, the most I could ever comfortably run is 6 miles. I know I can do it but I am scared to death of the running portion!
I am going to post the workouts that I have learned about tomorrow or later today if I have time. I know a lot of us don't have time to go to the gym everyday but with spring time coming up if you are like me you are ready to get out of the house already! Next week I'll focus on posting exercises and how to get started on a program. I am NOT a personal trainer but have worked with several and have learned A LOT so this information should not be considered professional advice, but it's at least what I have found to be useful!
