Motivation Please!

I need some motivation to get to the gym. I have been so focused on other things that when I have a free hour or so I want to just clean my house or make something. I committed to myself I would get back to 6 days of exercise and so far this day I've only done 1 workout!!! Anyone want to do a challenge or a goal with me??? Come on, don't be shy! Even if it's just for one week.

My friend Amber gave me this blog link and I think it's AWESOME! It has recipes and ideas for Super Healthy Kids and Families. I loved it so much I just added it to my favorite sites on the sidebar. Another friend of mine is an incredible woman and fitness expert. She owns her own company in Vermont. We met one summer when I worked in Jackson Hole and she is in the best shape of anyone I've ever met but she's not a snob about it. She is a healthy realistic person who is just so beautiful. I ran into her again in Jackson in 2009 and it was so good to see her. Here is her website and blog called Lifestyle Management & Nutrition. I'm really trying to focus on having a LIFESTYLE not a DIET. I am trying to rid myself of the "diet mentality" and really focus on eating healthy and balanced. I am still working through the balance part. Since I'm learning to trust myself I just know it's going to take a long time to stop eating lots of sweets and junk. I think Weight Watchers is the best spelled out program but you can't count points forever, well I guess you can but it gets exhausting. It feels kind of nice to not have rules but since I've had rules since the 4th grade (when I started my first diet...gross, I know!) it's hard to let them go. Usually when I've been without rules I've overeaten and binged on foods because I would tell myself, well I'm just taking a break before I start my diet. Well that worked really well for me huh! The point is that this is a process and learning to eat healthy and balanced is my goal. I am still working on balancing my food groups but I want to learn how to eat balanced and based on what my body needs and this is going to take a long time and a lot of trial and error. After working on my "homework" I can definitely identify with a few types of eaters. I fall into the "Unconscious Eater" and the "Professional Dieter" and just a tad of the "Careful Eater." I have really been trying to observe my eating patterns and I guess that's the goal for now. I am posting week 2 homework and wish you all luck in this journey! One more thing, I promised my BFF Mandy that I would post a picture of my recent craft. I don't craft. I am trying to find some things I enjoy that don't revolve around eating and baking so here is my first attempt at a craft.

  2. I am on board too! I have started working out at a gym but with 4 kids around it is sometimes difficult to get to the gym 5 or 6 days a week! (which my goal is right now) So what is the goal? Let me know;) This will be fun! I also have a blog with some friends and family called Phatties... you can go to phattiesrus.blogspot.com! We are able to post how our day or week went or how we ate to much or not enough or how we have been feeling. It is amazing when you have an outlet or a support group what a difference it can make and raises your awareness and accountability too!
Something that helps me (and me mom) when i am trying:) to watch my candy/sweets intake is allowing myself 100 calories a day of sweets and when I hit the 100 cal. I was done for the day. I liked to get a snack cup and fill it with the 100 calories and snack on it all day that way it felt like I always had some goodies available all day. We also allowed ourselves a 300 calorie treat once a week so we had 100 cal. per day and a bigger 300 cal. treat once a week! Does that make sense!? It seemed to help me watch and really think do I want to waste my precious 100 cal. on that verses a dang good slice of cheesecake;) Sorry if this made no sense!
You are doing awesome! Let me know what our goal is... can't wait!
